My Trip to Australia

Day 3
The third day in Sydney it started to rain. Of course, this was the day
I planned to do the Bridge Climb. This was a torturous, tricky 7.3 climb
up the side of "Old IronFace."
Due to the danger involved in such a tricky climb, we were not allowed
to carry our cameras, so I have no pictures of the actual climb, but
needless to say, the 60 year old woman behind me will testify as to my
level of courage on the ascent. Ok, it was a staircase and we walked up
a gentle slope. But I must emphasize that it was raining.
In fact, I got to talking with the woman and her grandma behind me and
we got along so well that they invited me back to their home for
lunch. I could not turn down the opportunity to study native Australians
in the wild!
First of all, I did not see any boomarangs or funny dotted
paintings. They live in houses very similar to Americans. Of course,
their backyard butted against the bush (jungle), so I did see a lot of
noisy birds.
After lunch we went for a drive through the city and then
they kindly dropped me off back at my hotel. So other than the
wrong-side-of-the-road issue, I think the Discovery Channel has totally
misled Americans about the local Australians.
